Distinct from traditional massage therapy, Lavanya’s treatments are provided while the client is fully clothed (flexible, comfortable clothing) and no oils are used in treatment.

At the beginning of each treatment, a brief assessment of posture, muscle balance issues, and joint function of the spine and pelvis will be observed and documented. Gentle techniques are used to release and realign the body, enhance circulation and lymphatic flow to improve mobility (freeing restrictions within joints and muscles) and restore health and vitality to stimulate the body’s ability to heal itself.

Treatments are not specifically focused on the symptoms, rather on the cause of the symptoms and often the area where the pain is felt is not the source. Instead of chasing the symptoms, the origin is sought out.

Everything in the body is connected and interdependent. A.T. Still (the founder of Osteopathy) believed a compensation of any part within the body will affect the entire body. Structural integrity and mobility are essential for the proper function of all systems and fluids within. Fluids within the body (blood within arteries and veins, lymph flowing through lympathics, and cerebrospinal fluid circulating around the brain and spinal cord), must be unobstructed to flow free and allow the body’s natural system to auto-regulate.

Dr. Hillary has joined Marda Loop Naturopathic and Wellness team with a fresh perspective on naturopathic medicine and its benefits to advancing health. Although her breadth of treatment is wide, her special interests lie in pediatric health and development, female and male fertility, pregnancy, pre and post natal care and chronic medical conditions. Hillary holds an Honours Bachelor of Science and Kinesiology degree from the University of Western Ontario and received her Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine. She is licensed currently with the College of Naturopathic Doctors of Alberta as well as the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors. Hillary’s passion for pediatric care has led her to become a member of the Pediatric Association of Naturopathic Physicians as well as the Association of Perinatal Naturopathic Doctors and focus her continuing education in this area. Hillary believes the strength of naturopathic medical care lies in its ability to treat the root cause of a patient’s concern. This not only achieves symptomatic relief, it allows a patient to reach a higher state of health and preventing further disease. By understanding the underlying physiology of a patient’s medical condition, along with taking the time to learn about the whole person, Hillary creates treatment plans using various modalities such as acupuncture, clinical nutrition, homeopathy, lifestyle and diet management, and physical medicine. Have you been treated by numerous other health professionals and still do not feel well?

Maybe you want a second opinion on your health concerns or conditions.

or

a doctor who will take the time to listen to you.

or

an integrative treatment approach that considers the complexity of who you are and the multiple factors that contribute to your health.

My approach is three-fold: 1. Listen to the unique story of your health 2. Figure out and appropriately diagnose what the underlying cause is and what ties your symptoms together 3. Treat the underlying factors of your disease and alleviate your symptoms through directed treatment

Patient-centred care is what I do. Each of my patients receives the treatment that is right for them. There is no one size fits all in medicine. We all have places we are stuck, whether physically or mentally, which prevent us from living in optimal health. Finding your obstacles and the tools to move through them is my passion. When we meet for the first time, I ask you targeted questions to uncover the unique history of your health. Next, if needed, we do relevant testing. Then we figure out an action plan that is targeted to the main cause(s) of your health concerns.

Targeted treatments can include supplementation of nutrients and herbal extracts, intramuscular injections, intravenous (IV) therapies, nutritional repletion of those lost due to illness or pharmaceuticals, clinical nutrition and dietary guidance, acupuncture, clinical counseling, and optimization of lifestyle habits and routines.

When it comes to supplements, I am a minimalist. I believe that we achieve the most when we are systematic and specific with what we do.

After developing the IV suite at Marda Loop Wellness Clinic, I have treated thousands of patients with intravenous (IV) therapy. IVs deliver health changing doses of nutrients in a highly absorbable and highly effective manner, expediting the healing process. They have become one of my favourite tools.

Check out our IV Therapies page to get a taste of all the IVs we offer. If you’re overwhelmed by the options, come chat with me, and I would be happy to give you some direction.

So if you’re ready, let’s figure you out!

Years ago, Chloé was looking for a new challenging adventure, so she moved to Calgary to enjoy the wide open space and the mountains.

Chloé has been in practice for over 10 years after graduating with honours from the six-year program at the Institut Supérieur d’Ostéopathie of Lyon in France. Her introduction to Osteopathy started at an early age with some treatment, and she “magically” got better–or at least that’s what she thought at the time! Her curiosity led her to study what really goes on during an Osteopathic treatment. Helping patients feel better and bringing them to the path of health seemed like the most rewarding job in the world, using her brain, hands, and heart at the same time!

Chloé has expertise in a wide range of techniques: gentle hands-on work, Cranio-sacral therapy (Cranial Osteopathy), visceral manipulation, muscle work, and joint mobilizations. Her depth of skill in many Osteopathic techniques helps her resolve some of her patients’ most complex health conditions and adapt each treatment to the patient’s specific needs. Chloé is always up for a challenge!

Helping patients recover and get better is like a game of Clue: in order to assist them, an Osteopathic therapist has to find the cause of the patient’s symptoms. The body has all the information stored in, and so we just have to train our hands to read it properly.

In the different clinics she has worked in, treating babies and kids, mothers, migraine sufferers, patients involved in terrible car accidents or falls, workaholic entrepreneurs, as well as athletes, her patients have experienced a significant decrease in their pain and have benefited from her holistic treatment and her advice on lifestyle, posture, exercises, relaxation, breathing, and dietary recommendations.

Chloé is passionate about Osteopathy and believes that learning is a lifelong journey. That is why she keeps adding to her toolbox to improve her skills in order to help as many patients as possible, which leads her to further her education by Biodynamic Osteopathy both in the United States and in Europe a few times each year.

Chloé is taking a special interest in treating babies and children, which is leading her, after doing a pediatric post-graduate program in Oregon, to further it even more with a six-year part-time, post-graduate program in Pediatrics in Switzerland, and Germany.

Years ago, Chloé was looking for a new challenging adventure, so she moved to Calgary to enjoy th... Read More
